Developing Urban Design Considerations for Public Spaces in Narayanganj City Corporation: An Ecosystem Restoration Approach

About: This collaborative research explores the potential of nature-based solutions as integral elements of urban open space design in the rapidly urbanizing secondary city of Narayanganj. With a focus on canal-side public spaces, the research aims to integrate the green-blue-grey nexus into existing urban frameworks to achieve sustainable and nature-positive development. Guided by the city mayor’s emphasis on canal restoration and ecosystem integration, this study evaluates how urban design interventions can enhance public life and foster resilience.

Urban Design Guidelines to Develop Climate Resilient and Inclusive Built Environment for Mongla Port Municipality, Bagerhat District, Bangladesh

About: Through a detailed case study approach, the research will assess Mongla Port’s existing urban systems, mapping out areas that are most susceptible to climate-induced risks and man-made hazards. By employing spatial and non-spatial criteria, the research will evaluate the adaptive capacities of local infrastructure and urban actors. This analysis will enable the team to identify potential areas of improvement and create vulnerability maps that outline key hotspots across the municipality.

Architectural and Structural Design for the Development of Central Graveyard Singra Pourshava, Natore

About: Singra Paurashava aims to develop the infrastructure of the Central Graveyard to enhance municipal services for the citizens. The scope of works in this project includes conducting surveys, creating 3D designs, and preparing architectural and structural drawings. It also involves generating cost estimates using RSEPS software, and coordinating with Singra Paurashava officials and the Dhaka Project Office.

Architectural and Structural Design for the Development of Streetscape Singra Pourshava, Natore

About: Singra Paurashava aims to develop the streetscape along with drainage improvement of a road to improve drainage of the surrounding area and improve a left-over space along the road. The scope of works in this project includes conducting surveys, creating 3D designs, and preparing architectural and structural drawings. It also involves generating cost estimates using RSEPS software, and coordinating with Singra Paurashava officials and the Dhaka Project Office.
